LaQuanda Plantt is an award winning director, producer and casting director who knew since a teenager that she wanted to pursue a career in film/television.  She founded ElleQ Casting in 2009 and built her reputation casting independent films, specializing in principal casting for a wide range of projects, from feature films to music videos. Her recent credits include notable films such as Lifetime's Can You Feel the Beat,  Single Black Female 2, Girl in the Closet & Kirk Franklin's The Night Before Christmas.

In 2014, LaQuanda contributed to extras casting for the Academy Award-nominated film Selma.  Beyond her role as a casting director, LaQuanda is also a member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA) and has produced several films, as well as directed four short films, two of which are premiering in early 2025.  TURF will stream on the streaming network ALLBLK,  and STRANDS will air on ASPIRE TV.  In 2018, LaQuanda graduated from The Art Institute of Atlanta with a BFA in Digital Filmmaking, which led to her taking a position as a Office Production Assistant (PA) on the set of OWN's Greenleaf.  She worked her way up the ladder of production, curious to learn as much about the film/television as she could.  Currently,  she holds the position of Production Supervisor on the first soap opera in history with a primary black cast, Beyond the Gates.  Premiering on CBS February 24, 2025.   LaQuanda has built a stellar resume of work in casting, producing, and production.  Her next task is to direct more films, she is slated to direct her first feature film in 2025.
